Accountable

Standard

new-year-28It’s that time again when people want to start a brand new year with a clean slate. They make resolutions to do all sorts of things. Loose weight, spend more time with family, stop smoking, save more money, etc, etc. Are you planning to stop something in the new year or perhaps start something new?

I know that lots of times we start with great intentions but by mid February we are right back where we started or ended the previous year. That leads to the thoughts of failure, and feelings like we will never be able to accomplish what we set out to do.

Have you tried to find a friend, spouse, neighbor to help you meet your new goal? Perhaps you are trying to exercise more. Find a friend that will walk with you a couple days a week or meet you at the gym. Maybe you want to spend more time in God’s word. Ask a friend to do the Proverbs with you each day. You don’t even need to live in the same city or state for that matter. You can text, email, or call and tell what you heard from God about that particular scripture.

There is even a place where this super woman posts Scripture Writing for each day of the month.

You know if you have someone that you are accountable to, you can do what you set out to do. The Best News is we can set out to do something with God.

He has promised to never leave us. Ask Him each morning to give you the strength and time to meet with Him. You will be amazed at what he is able to do and help you with. He is our firm foundation and the Light of the world. Who can beat that as an accountability partner?

If you are making New Year’s Resolutions, start with asking Jesus what He would have you work on then ask him to be your accountability partner.

How can your New Year not be the best one ever?

Share what you are doing this New Year.

Happy New Year!

No new resolutions this year. Just hanging tight with the Lord and trusting Him to lead me through according to His will. It always works better that way anyway.
