Power of Words Write 31 Days

Standard

enter-with-singingWords can be very powerful. They can hurt or heal, calm or agitate. Have you ever seen hands express words?

My name is Maggie and for the next 31 days I want to share with you some Christian songs and how the powerful words that are in them can heal your heart, or lead you to a place of understanding, or just lift your spirit to start new.

When my husband of 43 years listens to music he does just that, he just listens to the music not hearing the words at all. On the other hand when I listen to music I just hear the words. How do you listen to music?

I absolutely love music, it was my minor in college. I learned to play the piano by myself. Learned the clarinet in elementary school and the saxophone in high school. I even had a go round with the cello in college. I even went so far as to learn sign language to share with those that couldn’t hear the music to SEE the music. There was such delight for me when the words would come alive by using my hands. I would see different emotions. Some would smile, others would have tears streaming down their faces just at the power of the words.

I want to share a few songs for the next 31 days and have you perhaps SEE them for the first time in a way that will be a blessing. I will be sharing what the songs have meant to me on the week days and on the weekends I will share a graphic that shares words from Scripture that talks about singing or songs.

Please join me as we, “enter His gates with singing!”

    • I did it last year and liked it. I don’t know how you get the time to read all the others and keep up with your own twitter, Instagram, Facebook, I cheated last year I was so nervous that I did almost all my post before Oct. 1 Brahahahahahah! (love when I can fit that word in) This year I am trying to do them the day before, no pressure NOT! Still learning how to navigate Word Press. UGH. I am not sure i am Present over Perfect here.

      • I don’t do a very good job of that either. I mainly use Facebook. I’ve tried implementing Instagram here and there, but I’m not consistent on anything but my blog. For me that’s been the primary goal. Just do the blog. If I have time to read others and share on Facebook, etc – then great. If not, don’t stress. The practice of writing something every single day is most important 🙂

  1. Hi, I’m visiting from Write 31 Days. I noticed your series because my topic is very similar- stories of how God has used songs to speak to people and encourage them. I love both the words and music and the way they come together so powerfully. I look forward to coming back and reading more about the songs you have chosen.
